Canton, Ohio – A woman in Ohio admitted she was not guilty of madness after finding the body of her 5-year-old daughter hidden in a family restaurant.
Chen Mingming, of Jackson Town, entered her appeal during a court session on Thursday. The 29-year-old woman faces charges including murder, manipulation of evidence and misuse of the body.
Authorities say that Chen repeatedly her daughter, Ashley Chao. Prosecutors say Chen's husband, Liang Chao, tried to revive his daughter before helping hide the body.
Police said the two men reported the girl's disappearance on 9 January. Investigators found her body inside the Ang Asian restaurant in North Canton the next day.
Zhao pleaded guilty in September to charges including obstruction of justice and abuse of the body. The murder charge against him was dropped.
